Gameplay Systems

Open World, Sandbox Map – We want Edgefield to feel like a place you can actually explore. Plenty of locations, random encounters, characters with daily schedules, that kind of thing.
Jobs (For Money) – We’re planning some part-time job options that let you earn cash / meet new people around town.
Studying (For Grades) *Still workshopping this idea* – Tests happen every 7 in-game days. You’ll need to study a few times each week to keep your grades up. Studying is just a quick 3-second montage or something (no player input needed) that progresses the in-game time by one.
You’ll have 21 time slots per week, and maybe 3-5 of those will need to go toward studying if you want to keep your grades up. Passing tests comes with perks, but failing won’t ruin your game — you’ll just have a different experience.
Eventually there will be ways to study more efficiently (meaning you’ll be able to study less per week), and ways to get away without studying at all. This is meant to be a fun resource management system, but not something that is overly burdensome.
